SETUP AN AIRCRAFT WITH FLIGHT FOLLOWING
1. Notify FlightAware
To configure the flight tracking integration, each operation will need to reach out to FlightAware based on the requirements below and cc: opsupport@avianis.com.
a. Existing FlightAware Customers: Email support@flightaware.com indicating that you want to grant Avianis access to the data for your aircraft and provide the specific tail numbers that you would like to integrate.
b. Non-Existing FlightAware Customer must complete a form required by FlightAware and depending on the situation below follow the applicable steps:
Reach out to opsupport@avianis.com for the form.
Non-blocked tail number(s): Email support@flightaware.com indicating that you want to grant Avianis access to the data for your aircraft. Also include the specific tail numbers that you would like to integrate.
Blocked tail numbers: Email support@flightaware.com indicating that you want to grant Avianis access to the data for your aircraft. Also include the tail numbers that you would like to integrate. You will need to include a copy of the aircraft registration for each of the blocked tails (picture or scanned copy).
Tail numbers that do/will fly through Euro-control under a callsign: Email support@flightaware.com indicating that you want to grant Avianis access to the data for your aircraft. Also include the tail numbers that you would like to integrate. The email needs to specify that these tail numbers are going to fly through Euro-control under a call sign. FlightAware support will then walk you through the necessary documentation. This process can take 3-4 weeks.
Note: If the aircraft does not operate under a call sign, the operator is to go through the normal blocked tail process listed above.
2. Confirm Billing with Avianis
Flight following with the FlightAware integration is available to Avianis customers at an additional cost. Please reach out to sales@avianis.com or call 888-558-2890, option 1 and a sales team member will provide pricing details to activate this service.
3. Request Aircraft
Users submit a request for flight following per aircraft/tail. The option to turn on this feature is located in the aircraft profile by: My Company > Aircraft > [select tail number] > and it's located on the right-hand side column:
Clicking the Submit Request button sends a notification to the Avianis support team to enable the tail.
