Crew Availability is a feature within the Schedule Board that is designed to act as an informative layer when searching for crew members that may be available to be scheduled for duty or crewed to a flight. This article will cover:

  • how to view Crew Availability

  • the different types of Crew Availability

How to View Crew Availability

Crew availability can be viewed on the Schedule Board with the crew view enabled. Once the crew view is enabled, be sure it is toggled to AVAILABILITY.

Crew availability is also visible when the crew view is toggled to EVENTS, but this must be enabled in your Schedule Board settings. Read more about those settings here Schedule Board: Crew Availability Views and Settings.

Crew Availability Types

There are a total of four types of Crew Availability that can be scheduled for a crew member:

  • Available

  • Tentative

  • Extended

  • Clear

Available, Tentative and Extended will display on the Schedule Board and are color coded for easy visibility. These are hard coded and cannot be customized by the user.

Available

  • Displays green on the Schedule Board Crew Availability view.

  • Indicates the days the crew member is available for duty/assignment.

Tentative

  • Displays yellow on the Schedule Board Crew Availability view.

  • Indicates the days the crew member is potentially available for duty/assignment.

Extended

  • Displays orange on the Schedule Board Crew Availability view.

  • Indicates where the scheduled availability was extended beyond what was agreed upon.

Clear

  • Displays blank on the Schedule Board Crew Availability view.

  • Indicates the days the crew member has been cleared from duty/assignment.

Notes:

  • While three of the four availability types are color coded differently, there is no functional difference between the types.

  • Events are still the source of truth for the actual schedule of personnel/crew. This includes days off (HDOs), vacation, duty time, and other scheduled items. Availability is NOT duty time.
